  5.     Coupled Springs simulates the motion of two springs connected vertically and each connected to a mass.  The relevant parameters of the physical system can be changed with sliders.  In addition to the simulation, a Mathematica notebook is incorporated into the application.  The notebook describes the derivation of the differential equations which are used to model the mechanical system.

  7. Coupled Springs is used for individual student exploration at Allegheny College.
